SAINT GERMAIN FOOD TOUR - BOULANGERIE POILÂNE

On our second day we took a food tour at the Saint Germain area. During this tour we went to a very good bakery called Boulangerie Poilâne, where we had the pleasure of tasting the most delicious apple tart we had ever had. It has the perfect texture, crusty on the outside and buttery on the inside. It can easily be one of my favorite pastries ever.

PIERRE HERMÉ

Then we stopped by the famous Pierre Hermé, known for their pastries, cakes, macarons, and chocolates.  Their most famous signature flavor  is ispahan, which is the combination of rose, raspberry and lychee flavors.

PATRICK ROGER CHOCOLATIER

The tour then continued to Patrick Roger chocolatier. Patrick Roger won the pretigious title of MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) chocolatier in 2000. And yes, one bite into one of his chocolates will show you why he won that title. Their almond chocolates are the best we have ever had.

The 3-hour tour ended with the sampling of cheeses, cured meat and wine. And boy were we stuffed!

CITYPHARMA

After the food tour, we walked to CITYPHARMA, a popular parapharmacy in Paris that sells cosmetics at a discount price. This place is busy and the prices are really good. It is a must-visit place for ladies!

Then we walked some more at the neighborhood near our hotel and had dinner at Le Madeleine C. We really enjoyed the apple tart at the end of our dinner!
